How to Block Google DNS on Router

Some devices like the Chromecast and Roku have Google DNS hardcoded on the device. As a result it will try to communicate with Google DNS regardless of your router being configured to use Unlocator.

As a prerequisite to get started you will need to first configure your router to use Unlocator DNS: Please see our setup guides.

The method of blocking Google DNS works for Roku as well as Chromecast Gen 1+2. If you have a Chromecast Gen 3 or Ultra you will need to forward traffic from 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to 185.37.37.37
