MLB TV "Blackouts" on Apple TV - Location Services

As of May 2021, a new version of the MLB App has been released. When launching the new version of the MLB App for the first time, you'll be asked to "Allow MLB to use your location" with three options. You need to make sure to choose "Don't Allow" otherwise, the MLB App will start using Location Services to determine your true location. 

Please follow the steps below to ensure your location settings are disabled for MLB TV:

  1. From the Apple TV home screen, tap "Settings"
  2. Tap "Privacy"
  3. Tap "Location Services"
  4. Ensure location services are "On" at the device level
  5. Uninstall MLB TV app
  6. Unplug your Apple TV for 15 seconds
  7. Install MLB TV app and choose "Don't Allow" when it pops up
