How to Set Up Unlocator Smart VPN on Windows 7
Please note that you will not get a new IP from using Smart VPN. Alternatively use our VPN apps instead. These will not only hide your IP and add encryption but also allow you to unblock all the channels supported by Smart DNS automatically.

- Log in to your Unlocator account and go to the Smart VPN tab

- Here you will find your username and password for Smart VPN. Please note the password is different from your regular password used to log in to Unlocator.

Press Start and Choose
Control Panel

Network and Internet

Choose
Network and
Sharing Center

Choose
Setup new connection or network

Choose
Connect to a workplace and click
Next

Choose
Use my Internet connection (VPN)

Fill the sections with the following:
Internet address: vpn.unlocator.com
Destination name: Unlocator
Check Don't connect now and ch oose Next

Enter the following info:
User name: your email used for your Unlocator account
Password: Enter your VPN password (see step 1)
Check Remember this password
Do not put anything in Domain
Choose Create.

You will see Connect Now, but
DO NOT PRESS IT. Please Close instead.

Head on back to
Network and Sharing Center. Here you choose
Connect to a Network

Right click the VPN connection that you have created and choose
Properties.

Adjust the settings as follows:
Under Options tab uncheck Include Windows logon domain

Under Security tab:
Type of VPN: Point to Point Tunnelling Protocol (PPTP)
Data encryption: Require encryption (disconnect if server declines)
Choose Allow these protocols and check Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) and Microsoft CHAP Version 2. Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain, if any) if they have been checked

Under Networking tab: Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks and Client for Microsoft Networks
Choose Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) (must be checked) and Choose Properties
Keep Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically and Choose Advanced

Under IP Settings tab uncheck
Use default gateway on remote network. Keep
Disable class based route addition unchecked and
Automatic metric checked.

- Under DNS tab everything should be empty (apart from greyed out settings, which cannot be changed)

Under WINS tab Choose
Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP

- Choose OK until you're back in Network Sharing Center

- Choose Connect to a Network and choose the network connection you've just created and choose Connect
