How to Setup Kindle Fire

Kindle Fire 1st generation

Go to the Home Screen

Click the small gear wheel in the upper right corner

Select More

Go to Wireless Network

Select Advanced Settings

Select Use Static IP

Click DNS 1 and set it to 185.37.37.37

Click DNS 2 and set it to 185.37.39.39

Click Home

Restart your Kindle

Kindle Fire 2nd generation

Press on Wireless.

Press on your Wireless network name

Write down your IP address

Press Cancel

Press and hold your finger on your Wireless Network name

On the pop up select Advanced Settings

Select Use Static IP

Under IP address input the IP you wrote down in step 3

Under router input the IP address from step 3 but change the last number to 1. As an example: If your IP was 192.168.1.34 then input 192.168.1.1

Input 255.255.255.0 in subnet mask

Set DNS 1 to 185.37.37.37

Set DNS 2 to 185.37.39.39

Press Next

Restart your Kindle Fire

Kindle Fire HDX

Got to Home

Swipe down from the top to reveal the WiFi Icon (wireless)

Press the Wifi Icon

Select Wifi

Press and hold the Wifi you are connected to

Select Modify Network

Scroll down on the window the pops up

Select Show advanced options

Set IP Settings to Static

Scroll further down to IP Address. This field should be pre-populated (in grey writing) with your current IP. Write it down so you can remember it. Now type in the IP in the field.

Gateway should be pre-populated with the gateway IP as well

Same for Network prefix length - should be 24

Set DNS 1 to 185.37.37.37 and DNS 2 to 185.37.39.39

Press Save
